Both perspectives have a common goal that is to bring a person to a place of well-being however, the path to get there has several differences.  Acupuncture is a wholisitc medicinal system, meaning it takes into account all the factors that are contributing to a symptom in order to find the root cause that needs to be addressed.  Whereas western medicine focuses on immediate relief of a symptom, lab values, & emergency care.  Both perspectives when used correctly are brilliant ways to get healthy.
